Teesside Airport

Finds a Good Day

 to Bury Bad News

Christmas Eve saw the publication of Teesside Airport’s Annual Statement of Accounts …

The airport company, TIAL, has posted a loss of £6.6 million for the accounting period ending 31 March 2024, with the accounts being published on 24 December. This is up from £4.4 million in 2023:

Turnover was also down by £600,000. In better news for the airport, however, consultancy fees to Kate Willard also fell:

Oddly, the above paragraph omits to mention the Kate Willard is also a director of TIAL (perhaps this is because being a director both of a trading company and of its holding company constitutes a conflict of interest, which is an issue where public money is involved).

The statement of accounts also confirms what we have reported previously, that Hangar 4, which will be the paint workshop, was paid for entirely by TIAL, and also only one structure has been erected on the Southside Business Park. This park was created at a cost to the public of £23.6 million.
